Reverend Shelton Charles Dixon was born on May 3, 1965 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Dixon, Sr. He is one of eight children and is married to Jacqueline J. Dixon. They are the proud parents of Diamond NiJae Dixon. When Reverend Dixon was called to preach the uncompromising word of the risen Savior, he answered, and preached his first sermon June 30, 1987.

In 1992 Reverend Dixon was selected as one of the “Fifty Leaders of Tomorrow” by Ebony Magazine. In 1997, he was also honored by Lambda Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. as “Citizen of the Year”. In 1998, Reverend Dixon was honored as “Minister of the Year” by the Early Risers Kiwanis Club. Reverend Dixon received his Bachelors of Arts in June 2008 from the Calvary Theological Seminary, Lake Charles, La. in Religious Education and a Minor in Ministry. In April 2010, he was inducted into “The Fraternity of The Sword” at the Biblical Exposition Conference in Chicago, Illinois.

Reverend Dixon is the Pastor and Founder of the Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA. In addition to overseeing the Greater Mount Olive family, he is a member of the Third District Bogue Chitto Missionary Association; he also serves as Third Vice President of the Louisiana Home and Foreign Mission Baptist State Convention and the Recording Secretary of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc..

Reverend Dixon serves in the community on various boards, which seek to empower and enhance the quality of life for at-risk individuals and families.
